Galactic Unicorn is an advanced LED matrix from Pimoroni, powered by Raspberry Pi Pico W. Equipped with 583 RGB LEDs arranged in a 53x11 grid, it offers full control over the color and brightness of each of them. The device has a built-in speaker and amplifier that allows you to create sound effects, as well as a connector for connecting the battery. The matrix offers wide possibilities of use, thanks to the 2.4 GHz wireless connection provided by Raspberry Pi Pico W. The set also includes metal legs that allow you to place the board.

Galactic Unicorn programming

The matrix is based on the Raspberry Pi Pico W module, which uses the RP2040 microcontroller. It is programmed in C/C++ and MicroPython. The manufacturer has prepared guides for these languages along with sample program codes:
