Product description: Stellar Unicorn - 16x16 RGB LED matrix with Raspberry Pi Pico W - PiMoroni PIM676

A colorful clock or a display for various messages are just a small part of the wonderful projects you can create thanks to the versatile LED matrix from PiMoroni - Stellar Unicorn! The manufacturer used the Raspberry Pi Pico W module to drive it. The panel is equipped with 256 RGB LEDs in a 16x16 arrangement, with the possibility of separately adjusting the color and brightness of each of them. The device has a built-in speaker and amplifier for sound effects, as well as a connector for connecting the battery. Thanks to 2.4 GHz wireless communication offered by Raspberry Pi Pico W, in addition to colorful effects, the matrix can also display all data from the network. The set also includes metal legs on which the tile can be placed.

Stellar Unicorn Programming

The matrix is based on the Raspberry Pi Pico W module, which uses the RP2040 microcontroller. It is programmed in C/C++ and MicroPython. The manufacturer has prepared guides for these languages along with sample program codes:
